Our Pharma Tech Center (PTC) is
a premier research and process development center for new products and
production processes. In addition to the development labs, our PTC includes
a Pilot-Scale Production Plant (Pilot Plant) that contains three
multi-purpose production units (MPU’s). Our team of approximately 70
chemists, engineers and technicians works together toward two major goals:
developing manufacturing processes for new drug products and producing
the active pharmaceutical |

ingredients (API’s)
to be used in clinical supply. Our Analytical Development, Chemical
Development and Pilot Plant departments focus on making continuous
improvements in the areas of process robustness and product quality, while
also concentrating on cost effectiveness, process safety and environmental
impact. Our Process Optimization lab works closely with Manufacturing to
perform these same synthetic and analytical activities on commercial
products and, with support from Analytical Development, troubleshoots any
process scale-up issues that may occur. |
